The rural municipality of Diensdorf-Radlow, the lively municipality of Wendisch Rietz and the almost sophisticated municipality of Bad Saarow: there is something for everyone on this route. The Drei-Seen-Tour of three lakes takes you around Lake Scharmützelsee and Lake Storkower See. The wonderfully still Lake Großer Glubigsee is an added attraction. Bad Saarow is the centre of the holiday region as it were, famous above all for its healing thermal spring. Day trippers will encounter stylish villas everywhere, some with extravagant architecture. Celebrities have been coming to the summer resort for over 100 years, including big names such as box legend Max Schmeling or film star Käthe Dorsch. Before cycle paths were even conceived, the German novelist and poet Theodor Fontane enthused about Lake Scharmützelsee, calling it the “Märkisches Meer”, the Mark Brandenburg sea.
