In the heart of the town, the completely reconstructed Storkow (Mark) Castle shines in new splendor. 800 years after it was first mentioned in 1209, it was handed over to the townspeople and guests and developed into a tourist and cultural attraction. Today, the castle presents the diverse natural and cultural history of the region between the Oder, Dahme and Spree rivers and is also the visitor information center of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park.

The exhibition on the first floor, “From dry as dust to wet as a puddle”, is a special experience for young and old alike: the habitat types of the nature park and their special or typical inhabitants are presented in walk-in cabinets with many elements to touch and discover. Further permanent and special exhibitions can be found in the basement and in the gallery on the top floor.

The tourist information office, the town library and the castle parlor on the castle grounds invite visitors to linger. A wide range of events such as concerts, readings and theater in the event hall or on the open-air stage guarantee a varied stay in Storkow.
