The heart of the town boasts Burg Storkow, a completely reconstructed castle shining in new splendour. 800 years after its first mention in 1209, it was handed to the local citizens and theirs guests and is now evolving into a new tourist and cultural destination. The castle features an interesting exhibition (“Humans and Nature – A Time Travel”), the tourist information centre, a municipal library, the Café Burgstübchen, the event hall in the Palas, and an open-air stage. Storkow and its surroundings ensure a range of cultural entertainment including permanent and special exhibitions and a variety of concerts, readings and theatre performances.

The varied natural and cultural history of the region between the Rivers Oder, Dahme and Spree is presented inside Burg Storkow. Spread across three levels, the “Natureum” houses an exhibition which enables visitors to obtain an individual learning experience through the use of multimedia and multi-functional exhibition concepts. The exhibition starts in the glacial period and leads visitors through history to the present time on three levels. On the top level (attic) the exhibition showcases, i. a., a few remaining images and cartographic material, documenting the century-old history of the castle.

Additional information on the opening hours: museum is closed on December 24 and 31.
