The single-nave Protestant Buckow town church is centrally located on a small hill in the heart of the town and can be seen from afar. The first wooden church, built on this site in 1250, was replaced by a granite building around 1300 by Cistercian monks. During the Reformation, the church received its first Protestant pastor in 1541. Over the years, the church was damaged by fire several times. At the end of the 17th century, the master builder Mathias gave the church its present appearance as a plastered Baroque building. The interior was renovated in 1891. During the two world wars, the church lost all its bells. On May 1, 1945, the church was completely destroyed and rebuilt by the parish in the years 1950-1951. The interior walls of the church are painted white to create a contrast to the dark wood paneling of the gallery and the ceiling. The organ was built by Hermann Eule from Bautzen.
