The Richter family winery

Since it is not a classic wine region, hardly anyone suspects that wine is grown in the Neuzelle resort. There used to be numerous vineyards in and around the monastery. Due to unfavorable circumstances such as wars, bad harvests and the dissolution of the monastery, viticulture was completely stopped and was forgotten for many decades.

At the time, the wine didn't taste very good. Only in the last few centuries has the quality of the wine improved and has become a drink for connoisseurs.

The first and largest vineyard in Neuzelle is heavenly on the edge of the resort. The Richter family were the first to plant vines again after 150 years without wine in Neuzelle. At first there were very few vines on the 15 degree steep south-west slope. Today there are over 500 pieces, with a wide variety of varieties. During a tour there is a lot of interesting information to be learned from the hobby winemakers. The different types of wine can be tasted in a relaxed atmosphere.

The many family farm animals live and graze in harmony on the vineyard, and you can watch them in a relaxed manner and even stroke them. This is a lot of fun for children and adults. A specialist in animal-assisted therapy is happy to assist the children.

Guided tour and tasting are only possible by appointment
