Lake Brieskower See is a tributary of the River Oder so it is directly connected to it. Over a total length of about 3 kilometres, the lake runs like a tube from its mouth at Lossow to the municipality of Brieskow-Finkenheerd. The width of the 54-hectare lake is between 150 and 250 metres. The depth varies according to the water level of the Oder, but averages around 1 to 3 metres. Due to the connection with the river, you can expected to find all the fish that live in the Oder here. From asp to zander – everything is possible. However: fishing on the western shore of Lake Brieskower See is prohibited from the northern edge of the metal sheet pile wall to as far as the Zielrichterturm (tower) as this is a nature conservation area!

The lush overgrown eastern shore is difficult to reach in parts and requires a lengthy walk. In many places (especially on the west shore) there is dead wood in the water, which is always an attraction for various fish species. At the narrow southern tip there are also weed fields.
  • Size: 50 hectares, depth: 1-4 metres
  • Fish species: whitefish, pike, tench, eel, catfish, perch, asp, chub
  • Tenant/operator: Fischereibetrieb “An der Schlaubemündung”, Lindenstrasse 20-21, 15295 Brieskow-Finkenheerd
  • Sale of fishing permits:

  • Carpfood 24, Oderlandstrasse 22, 15890 Eisenhüttenstadt
  • Kosterra Angelshop, Sport und Fun Fishing, Damasckeweg 69, 15234 Frankfurt (Oder)

Predatory asp, pike and perch, roaming chubs, ide and carp as well as mysteriously prowling eels and catfish at the bottom – all this is to be found in Lake Brieskower See, which is wonderfully unspoilt despite its close proximity to Brieskow-Finkenheerd. A genuine natural oasis just over 10 kilometres from Frankfurt/Oder.

The best way to explore Lake Brieskower See is by fishing from a boat.  Fishing boats can be rented directly on site from the fisherman. By the way: a special feature is the “Steile Wand” (steep cliff) at the mouth of Lake Brieskower See. This is one of the rare steep cliffs along the River Oder: at a height of up to 60 metres, it is not only a breeding place for rare bird species but also an impressive natural monument.
