Lake Burgsee near Falkenhagen is one of five medium-sized lakes which are arranged rather like a string of pearls in the Märkisches Land region. From the south, these are Lakes Gabelsee, Schmielensee, Schwarzer See, Burgsee and Mühlenteich. On the southern shore of Lake Burgsee lies the municipality of Falkenhagen (Mark). Only a road width separates Lake Burgsee on the south-eastern shore from the neighbouring Lake Schwarzer See at its thinnest point.

While the northern part of the lake is surrounded by forest, the south is easily accessible by car. Here you will also find most of the shore fishing spots. Schlaubefisch eG also has its fishing farm here: this is where you can obtain fishing permits for many lakes in the region. Shore anglers can be successful with a feed basket here, catching bream, white bream, roach, rudd as well as the odd tench. In the evening hours, eels come to the shore and can be outsmarted by means of float fishing and ground fishing techniques.
  • Fish species: eel, zander, pike, catfish, white bream
  • Size: 25 hectares, depth: 30 metres
  • Tenant/operator: Schlaubefisch e.G.

Fishing permits are sold by Schlaubefisch e.G.

At 25 hectares, Burgsee lake goes down to a depth of 30 metres. Good pike and perch lurk in the open water. Sometimes there are large pike right at the edge of the perch shoals – and they strike whenever they feel like it. What is more, somewhere in the depths of the lake there are catfish – though these are not easy to get hold of. If you are feeling up to this challenge, you might be in for a surprise catch.
