The Großer Müllroser See is located in the Schlaubetal Nature Park and can confidently be described as a dream spot. With an average depth of 8 meters and an area of over 130 hectares, the Großer Müllroser See with its excellent water quality is the habitat for the most popular fish species.

  • Size/depth: 131.67 ha, 8m

  • Tenant/operator: Fischer Schneider, Lindenstraße 20, 15295 Brieskow-Finkenheerd

  • Fish species: Eel, carp, catfish, pike, tench, zander, perch

  • Fishing license sales: From the tenant and at the Schlaubetal information office in the Haus des Gastes

In the southern area, the Schlaube flows into the Großer Müllroser See, which shows its natural side here. Fields of water lilies and lush trees line the shore. In the middle of the lake is the island of Fischerwerdel, also known by locals as “Love Island”. If you take a boat, you can fish undisturbed from here.

Shore anglers will find particularly promising fishing spots on the north and west shores. The bathing spots on the western and eastern shores of the lake may only be used for fishing after the end of the bathing season. Fishing boats can be hired directly in Müllrose and you can launch your own boats in the northern part of the lake. However, combustion engines are not permitted and even electric motors may not have more than 1 kW of power.

Pike can be caught well along the edges of reeds and lily pads, with the larger specimens often lurking in the open water. With large lures over 15 centimetres long, the chances of catching a large specimen increase. Zander anglers look for the deeper holes (up to over 10 meters) in the lake and offer soft lures between 8 and 12 centimeters long on the bottom. As dusk falls, the zander also come to shallower water. But be careful, the catfish now also become active and can grab the bait at any time! If you want to target the urians, offer dead baitfish or bundles of dewworms on powerful tackle.

Eel anglers target the shore areas with bottom or light float rigs or try their luck from a boat. The inlet of the Schlaube, the transition to Kleiner Müllroser See in the north or the connection to Mouschenzsee in the east are also interesting areas. There is also a good chance of catching tench along the reed edges and lily pads if the tackle is not too coarse.

And last but not least: Forage anglers can expect a lively bite. Bream, gudgeon, roach & co. will be preying in large numbers on small maggot bundles. Those who rely on fast-dissolving food will not oversaturate the fish and will get regular bites. It's fair to say that there is something for every angler in the Großer Müllroser See.
