The name of the lake “Langer See” (“long lake”) near Garzin is confusing. If you look at it on the map, a more appropriate name would be “kinked lake”. This large lake is divided into two roughly equal areas which are connected by a shallow (and weedy) passageway. Locals talk of the Garzauer Ende, which runs from south to north, and the Garziner Ende, which stretches from east to west. The river Lichtenower Mühlenfließ flows through the lake, and it is largely surrounded by forest.
