Lake Ranziger See is located directly by the village of the same name in the Brandenburg municipality of Tauche. Set amid pine trees, the 32-hectare lake with its natural shore areas is located in the direct vicinity of Lake Leißnitzsee and the Spree River, which flows northwards from there. Lake Ranziger See is up to 18 metres deep and offers excellent water quality. The depth of visibility is up to two metres. The clear water attracts bathers to the lake in summer, who use the free shore areas on the waterfront.
  • Fish species: eel, pike, catfish, carp, tench
  • Size: 32 hectares, depth: 18 metres
  • Tenant/operator: Mr. Lutz Rußig
  • Sale of fishing permits:
    • Märkisches Seecamp Ranzig: Hauptstrasse 21a, 15848 Tauche OT Ranzig, telephone +49 33675 59033

The campsite “Märkisches Seekamp” is also located at this site: this is where anglers can purchase guest permits and rent rowing boats. The remaining shore areas are difficult to access and are lined with reeds over long stretches. At the northern tip there is a small siltation zone. The main fish species are carp, pike, perch and whitefish, but eel, catfish and zander can also be found in Ranzigersee. Due to the clear water, it is advisable to use somewhat less heavy tackle to ensure the fish don’t suspect anything.

Lake Ranzigersee is especially popular with pike and carp anglers. If you fish with artificial bait, it's best to use natural types to deceive the visually oriented hunters such as pike and perch. Instead of steel leaders, inconspicuous fluorocarbon leaders with a diameter of about 0.9 millimetres should be used for pike fishing so as to deal with the pike’s razor-sharp teeth. Carp anglers will also be more successful if their tackle is less readily visible to the fish. Those who want to take up the challenge of catching a catfish should make the most of the evening and night hours. Some catfish have been caught here using bait fish and worm bundles.
