The arboretum is located directly on the Oder-Neisse cycle path near the Fürstenberg stadium. It was brought into being and laid out as a park-like forest landscape in 1923. In 1927 the first exotic trees from Schwedt were planted here. There are special trees here such as American yellowwood, cake tree, flower ash, bush chestnut, service tree and gold robin.

The city is currently planning to upgrade the arboretum with the aim of making the site accessible again for knowledge, relaxation and nature.
