The Fontanepark is located directly by Lake Scharmützelsee in Bad Saarow. On the occasion of the Fontane anniversary in 2019, 16 panels were installed with Fontane quotations. The art object Blick ins Nichts (“view into nothingness”) is located at the footbridge.
Theodor Fontane walked past here during his walk through Mark Brandenburg in 1881. He arrived at the harbour from the direction of Pechhütte (today a restaurant) through the Rauener Mountains and continued on to the village of Saarow. This peninsula was later filled up with brick remains and given the name of Fontanepark.
