The Teufelsstein is located around two kilometres from Treppeln and can be reached via a path from the village. Nestled between birch and pine trees, the large boulder is impressive with a length of four metres, a width of 2.8 metres and a height of 1.8 metres. A legacy of the Ice Age, the colossus was transported here with the glaciers from Scandinavia.

The stone is shrouded in legend: A farmer is said to have made a pact with the devil to remove the stone from his field. The devil then hurled it across the Klautzkesee, where it remained. The imprints of the devil's horse kick and hand can still be seen in the rock today.

Shady spots under tall trees invite you to linger at the Teufelsstein. The place is ideal as a rest stop for hikers and cyclists exploring the eastern gateway to the Schlaubetal Nature Park. Treppeln is connected to the ‘Mönchstour’ and ‘Oder-Spree-Tour’ cycle routes.
