The Old Town of Storkow was built around 800 years ago. This makes it one of the oldest towns in the State of Brandenburg. Visitors to the restored old town centre will immediately notice the wooden drawbridge across the Storkow Canal, a masterpiece of engineering based on the Dutch model. Storkow Castle was built back in the 12th century and has also been completely restored since then. Today, it stands as the town’s crowning glory whilst representing its social centre at the same time. The impressive structure is inevitably the first thing visitors notice, regardless of the direction from which they come. It houses the Dahme-Heideseen information centre and also hosts special exhibitions on artistic themes. The Storkow inland dune, 36 metres high, is an extraordinary natural spectacle. It was created 8,000 to 10,000 years ago and provides a fantastic view down to Lake Storkower See. To ensure that young visitors also get their money's worth, a visit to "MitMachPark IRRLANDIA" in the warm season is an eventful change.
