Length, duration: 4 kilometres, approx. 1 hour

Start/finish: Siehdichum forester's lodge car park

Arrival & departure:

From Berlin via the A12 motorway to the Müllrose exit, then via L37 and Kupferhammerstraße to the Siehdichum forester's lodge (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes)

Directions:

The hike begins at the Siehdichum forester's lodge, where the car park is well signposted. Shortly after the start, you pass the forester's cemetery and the Siehdichum memorial stone opposite - it is worth taking a quick look at the inscriptions. The trail then leads along an easily accessible riverside forest path around the Hammersee, which is always in view. Several benches and resting places invite you to linger. With a bit of luck, you might spot kingfishers, great crested grebes or otters. At a wooden bridge, you cross the Schlaube, which flows through a wet wooded area between Hammersee and Großem Treppelsee - ideal for a photo stop. The route continues along the Hammersee, which is popular with anglers, through colourful deciduous forests back to the starting point.

Once you've relaxed and perhaps worked up an appetite, we recommend stopping off at Forsthaus Siehdichum to enjoy the cosy atmosphere on the terrace.
