Start/finish: Bremsdorfer Mühle

Arrival/departure:

RE 1 to Jacobsdorf, continue by bus A400 to Bremsdorfer Mühle (April-October on weekends and public holidays) or daily with PlusBus 400 (Eisenhüttenstadt-Beeskow)

Directions

The Großer Treppelsee is nestled in the woods of the Schlaubetal Nature Park. The circular trail first leads through an alder swamp to the Planfließ, then along the shore with views of water birds and reed beds. On the north-west bank, the Schlaube flows towards Hammersee. The western bank is characterised by beech, sessile oak and pine trees. Fallen trees and dead wood form valuable habitats for animals. An observation hut offers insights into the natural world. A short detour to the ‘Himmel und Hölle’ (Heaven and Hell) viewpoint opens up a sweeping view over the lake.

Refreshment tip:

In the summer months, the snack bar at the campsite entrance offers grilled sausages, cakes, ice cream and drinks at weekends and on public holidays.
