Here, the walking trail showcases all the gems Brandenburg has to offer: forests, vast meadows and lakes, the charm of old mills, and history you can touch everywhere – especially in the Rüdersdorf Museum Park. Nature and industrial heritage come together in perfect harmony. There’s exercise for your health, stimulation for the senses and, along the way, fascinating insights into the 800-year history of limestone quarrying.

Route description / Interesting facts: Just past Strausberg station, you walk a short distance alongside the railway line, cross the tracks and head into the woods. The path continues to run parallel to the railway line for a while, before leaving it after about two kilometres and winding its way through dense woodland. A little later, the landscape opens up. Meadows stretch out before you. Soon you reach the Lemke watermill on the outskirts of Hennickendorf, one of the last working watermills in Brandenburg. Crossing the Kleiner Stienitzsee and passing the Wachtelturm, you reach the Großer Stienitzsee. Near the shore, footbridges lead through riparian woodland and across marshy meadows. From the bathing spot, you walk through the forest, up and down, to Tasdorf, and from there along the unspoilt banks of the Mühlenfließ to the Rüdersdorf Museum Park. The open-air industrial museum offers fascinating insights into the history of limestone quarrying in the region. Beyond Rüdersdorf lies the Kalksee. The lakeside path beneath the trees is a final highlight of this walk. From the Liebesquelle, it is not far via the lock in Woltersdorf to the tram stop.
