The 8.5-kilometre-long Salzweg (salt route) provides an insight into the fascinating world of the salt marshes along with some glorious views. From Storkow Castle, the circular route runs past the station through the Luchwiesen meadows near Philadelphia on to Groß Schauen. It then goes along the Marstall- and Burgwiesen back to Storkow Castle.

Salt-tolerant plants need two things to be able to survive: 

A high (salt) groundwater level and regular but not too intensive use.

The path takes you past various stations, where you can learn more about the salt marshes, how they were created and how they are used today.

Start/finish: Storkow (Mark) castle
Length: 8.5 kilometres
Duration: around 90 minutes
