Start / Finish: Rauener Berge (alternative: Kolpiner Straße in Bad Saarow)

Length / Duration: 3 kilometers (7 km incl. outward and return journey from Bad Saarow) / approx. 1 hour (or 2 hours)

Trail conditions: Natural forest paths, partly narrow paths

Route description

From Kolpiner Straße in Bad Saarow, the main hiking trail leads straight ahead for about 2 kilometers to the signposts for the nature trail. This is where the circular trail through the Rauener Berge begins. Along the way, numerous boards provide information about the typical tree species of the region and give exciting insights into the history of mining

A special highlight is the former lignite mining tunnel exit, which is located directly on the trail. The circular route itself does not pass the famous Rauener Steinen, but a detour there is possible at any time.

Highlights along the route

  • Nature trail: informative information boards on flora and mining history.

  • Gallery exit: relic of lignite mining in the region.

  • Rauener Steine (optional): The largest erratic boulders in northern Germany can be visited with a short detour.
