Highlights:

  • Easy: Short round trip that fits perfectly into the afternoon.

  • Quiet and safe: Motorboats are not allowed on Glubigsee.

  • Refreshing: Sandy beaches, gently sloping shores, convenient docks in clear water.

  • Relaxing: Almost exclusively in a calming forest environment.

Start & Finish: Wendisch Rietz Station.
Length: 9 km / approx. 3.5 - 4h.
Public transport approach: RB24 or S-Bahn to Königs-Wusterhausen, then RB36 to Wendisch Rietz.
Public transport departure: From Wendisch Rietz take the RB36 to Königs-Wusterhausen, then continue with the S-Bahn or RB24.

Travel tip:

Upon arrival at the Wendisch Rietz station, just cross the Beeskower Chaussee and immediately immerse yourself in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Dive into the Nature of the Glubigsee Chain:

After arriving by regional train in Wendisch-Rietz, step directly into the fragrant forest. A shortcut, after about a kilometer, leads to the "Glubigsee Circular Trail", marked with a yellow dot. The Great Glubigsee unfolds. This western shore is especially tranquil. An idyllic resting place offers a small swimming spot. Perfect for a summer dip. The path continues past the edge of a military restricted area heading south. No need to worry about the warning signs - they're official paths! Halfway through, a small canal is crossed, connecting the Glubigsee with the Springsee. They are part of the Glubigsee chain located in the Dahme-Heideseen nature park. Maybe spot fish like perch and roach in the clear water. The Springsee briefly reveals itself, shimmering through the trees.

Swimming Fun:

The route takes you along the eastern shore on the 66-Lakes Trail heading north, past a holiday park, to two more swimming spots. Choose between diving off a large dock or entering the water from the sandy beach.

End the Tour with a Fish Sandwich or Homemade Lemonade:

At the end of the journey, enjoy a view of the Small Glubigsee. After passing weekend houses and eventually reaching the road, there's a hidden access to the lake on the left. From benches and the dock, enjoy the scenic views. A restaurant on a small peninsula is visible in the distance. Water lilies bloom on the water, fishing boats dock, and a thatched-roofed house evokes Baltic Sea vibes. The Fish House by the lake not only serves delicious fish dishes but also offers fish sandwiches to go. Alternatively, Wendisch Rietz offers homemade cake and lemonade. The Atelier Café welcomes with an idyllic garden in front of the Old School.

Dining tips:

  • Wendisch Rietz Settlement: Fish House
  • Wendisch Rietz: Atelier Café.
