Your highlights:

  • Easy: short round trip, which is easy to fit in in the afternoon

  • Quiet and safe: motorboats are not allowed on the Glubig lakes

  • Refreshing: sandy bathing spots, shallow shores, practical jetties by the clear water

  • Relaxing: almost exclusively in soothing forest surroundings on the way

Start & finish: Wendisch Rietz train station
Length: 12,5 km / approx. 3,5 - 4h
Arrival ÖPNV: RB24 or S-Bahn to Königs-Wusterhausen, then RB36 to Wendisch Rietz.
Departure ÖPNV: From Wendisch Rietz with RB36 to Königs-Wusterhausen and further with S-Bahn or RB24.

Dive into the nature of the Glubigsee chain

After the regional train has brought you to Wendisch-Rietz, you will immediately enter the fragrant forest. A shortcut leads you after about one kilometer to the "Glubigsee-Rundweg", which is marked with a yellow dot.

Finally, the Great Glubigsee opens up. Here on the western shore it is particularly quiet. There is a small bathing area at the idyllic resting place. Perfect to jump right in during the summer. The trail takes you further south past the edge of a restricted area for the German Armed Forces. Don't be afraid of the warning signs - you are on official paths!

About halfway through your late riser tour, you'll cross a small canal that connects Glubigsee and Springsee lakes. They are part of the Glubigsee chain here in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, which includes three other bodies of water. Can you observe the fish in the clear water? Maybe there are perch and rudd to be discovered. The Springsee also shows itself briefly and glistens between the trees.

Swimming fun

Continue along the eastern shore on the 66-lake trail in a northerly direction and past the vacation park to two more swimming spots. Here you have the choice: jump from the large jetty in a high arc or plunge into the floods a little further along the sandy beach. In the adjacent vacation park you can also rent a pedal boat and set sail.

End of the tour with a fish roll or homemade lemonade

At the end of the tour you can take a look at the Kleiner Glubigsee. After you reach the weekend houses on a wooden plank path and finally the road, you will find a hidden access to the lake on the left hand side. From the benches and jetty you can easily observe the beautiful scenery on the water.

Diagonally across the water, an excursion restaurant greets you from a small peninsula. Water lilies bloom on the water, fishing boats are moored on the jetty, and a dreamy house with a thatched roof radiates an almost Baltic Sea flair. There at Fischhus, on the idyllic terrace by the lake, you will not only get delicious fish dishes. If you like, you can also get a fish roll in your hand, so that no one has to get back on the train hungry. Alternatively, there is also homemade cake and lemonade in nearby Wendisch Rietz. The Atelier Café welcomes you with an idyllic garden in front of the Old School.
