The Werlsee is located in Grünheide and is connected to the Peetzsee. There is an island on the lake, Lindwallinsel, which is also known colloquially as Liebesinsel. The north beach on Lake Werlsee is wide and offers plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing. The sand is very fine and those who need a break from the sun will also find plenty of shady spots under the trees at the edge. There's more to this beach than just sand and water. There is also a climbing forest, a beach bar and a giant swing as a perfect photo point with a view of the lake and Fangschleuse. The southern beach of Lake Werl is particularly popular with shade lovers. The sandy beach is surrounded by a spruce forest to the right and left. This provides plenty of shade at any time of day. For all sun worshippers, there is of course also space for sunbathing.
