In 1804, Albrecht Daniel Thaer was sent to Möglin by the Prussian state, where he established Germany’s first farming academy. A permanent exhibition about the life and work of the teacher, statesman and agricultural scientist Albrecht Daniel Thaer (1752 to 1828) was opened in a modern pavilion in Möglin in 2009. It is located in immediate vicinity of the 400-year-old manor house, whose gardens are home to Thaer’s burial place.
