The Gustav Seitz Museum is a facility run by the foundation of the same name. It is dedicated to preserving the artistic heritage of the sculptor and illustrator Gustav Seitz (1906 to 1969). The museum was opened on September 11, 2017 in a specially refurbished laundry building of the former rural estate on the premises of the Trebnitz Castle Education and Exchange Centre.

In addition to the remaining cast models, the collection comprises in particular sculptures by Seitz (small and big sculptures and relief work), as well as drawings and graphic prints. A representative selection of the artist’s sculptural work is presented in the permanent public exhibition.

The museum’s location gives rise to a cooperation with the Trebnitz Castle Education and Exchange Centre. Planning provides for joint activities to be offered in the future, such as workshops for local families and children, German-Polish artists’ plein-airs and regular guided tours.

It is always a good idea to combine a visit to the museum with a stroll through the historic gardens of Trebnitz Castle. The castle complex and grounds are preserved, refurbished and maintained thanks to the extraordinary commitment of volunteers. The remise at the entrance of the premises is home to a village shop with regional products and a café. During the peak season (April to October), visitors from near and far are welcome to visit the inclusive international Junior Café. Please take a look at the website for more information.
