From 1892, local people in need found a place to stay in the half-timbered house that was built in Letschin in the 19th century. The exhibition includes historic household items, tools and furniture. In addition to this, the history of the village is presented on text and image boards. The relationship between young Theodor Fontane and his childhood home in Letschin and to the Oderbruch is illustrated in another exhibition room.
