The Fürstenwalde Museum has an exhibition on the prehistory and early history of the region, the history of the 700-year-old town of Fürstenwalde, information on the town's development, medieval trade and the episcopal town of Fürstenwalde. The Gerhard Goßmann Gallery provides an insight into the work of the Fürstenwalde graphic artist and painter, who is best known for his book illustrations. The museum also showcases Fürstenwalde's 150 years of industrial history, including a real lighthouse that was built here in 1909.

The Fürstenwalde Museum is also home to one of the largest collections of boulders in Europe. The collections of Walter Bennhold can be admired in a foam magazine. In the Bürgerpark am Dom directly in front of the museum, there is a rock garden designed according to geological and educational criteria. The Ice Age flyer on the boulder collection can be downloaded from the Fürstenwalde City Museum website.

The importance of the town as a former beer metropolis can be experienced in a show in the nearby Ratskeller. A taste of today's Fürstenwalde beer, produced by the private brewery located in the same cellar, is highly recommended
