The sheep farming experience world on the edge of the idyllic little town Beeskow tells the story of the woolly animals and the sheep farming craft in the state of Brandenburg in an exhibition that is unique in Germany. More than 1000 exhibits are shown on over 400 square metres to illustrate the history of sheep farming and rural life. Visitors can see sheep, agricultural tools and a farmhouse interior.

Our staff member Susan Janiak, who has learned the sheep farming trade from scratch, is happy to answer any questions about the traditional craft.

We are not a dusty old museum, but an interesting experience world for people of all ages. Guided tours for groups, exciting family outings, activity programmes for children and young people: we have something for everyone.

In our clear hands-on presentations you can explore and try the most interesting aspects of sheep farming. Follow the exciting journey from sheep to scarf. Learn everything you have always wanted to know about sheep and shepherds. Our ‘giant straw bed’ is perfect for playing, relaxing and hanging out. Those who like to be a bit more active, should try the shepherd’s run or the giant jigsaw puzzle and board game.

It goes without saying that our experience world is fully accessible. It is therefore a suitable destination for days out organised by schools, workshops and facilities for people with disabilities. We now also offer activities with our two dogs who are trained therapy dogs.

The SchäftereiErlebniswelt is part of the experience farm AWO Erlebnishof Beeskow.
