The "Schwerzkoer Mühle" mill is one of the most popular destinations for a day out in this region. Of the 6 mills that were once powered by the small Dorchebach brook, this is the last mill in the romantic Dorchetal valley that is still in working order. It was first mentioned in a document in 1420 and was finally shut down at the beginning of the 20th century. The mill, which is under monument protection, was extensively restored at the end of the 20th century and can now be visited. On special occasions or by appointment, you can watch the saw frame cutting boards from thick tree trunks. In the meantime you can learn a lot of interesting facts about how the sawmill works and about the history of the mill. The Mühlenklause restaurant can be found right next door. At the "Sägemüllers Stammtisch" regulars' table you can enjoy a typical regional snack or try a piece of their homemade sheet cake. The rustic ambience and the warmth and kindness of the millers makes this such a unique place for a day out.
