The oblong-shaped, slightly meandering lake on the edge of the Oderbruch features a number of lovely, quiet bathing areas around its shoreline. Lawn areas and clearings are dotted around the lake, allowing for direct water access and room for sunbathing.

Visitors approaching the lake on the country road L34 from the direction of Ringenwalde, will find a parking area to the right of the road, just before the village entrance into Karlsdorf. From here, the lake and the nearest bathing spots are about 300 metres away and reached via a forest path. The lake is surrounded by a five kilometres long footpath.
