The castle is the central point of Altranft Museum. It contains the information point for the museum area, exhibitions, museum café and museum shop. Built in 1600 and altered many times since then, today it houses interesting exhibitions about life in the region at the end of the 19th century.

The museum aims to present the history of Oderbruch and present-day life in the region and looks at the current challenges of agricultural life through annual themes. The castle complex is completed by the pretty 18th century church on the village green, a historic fire station, a farm, a smithy and a “fisherman’s cottage”. Educational activities can be arranged for children or school classes.

Visitor groups and school classes outside regular opening hours should book by calling.
