The crossing over the River Spree on Brandenburg's only manually operated passenger ferry takes about four minutes. It is located at the exit of Lake Leißnitzsee and connects the towns of Leißnitz and Ranzig, providing a convenient and safe way to cross the river for those out on day trips. It is particularly ideal for cyclists because interregional cycle paths such as “Tour Brandenburg”, the international cycle path Beeskow-Sulęcin and the tour “Around Schwielochsee” all make use of the ferry connection.

On the ferry grounds in Leißnitz, there is a snack bar as well as a campsite with handicapped-accessible toilets; celebrations and events for up to 40 persons can also be held here. The ferry runs from April to October. There are no crossings in thunderstorms, rain, storm or fog.
