The Oder ferry Aurith - Urad operates at weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) between the German town of Autith and the Polish town of Urad, depending on the current water level of the Oder, thus enabling a convenient border crossing across the Oder, which is particularly attractive for cyclists, but also for pedestrians. The ferry will operate from the beginning of May to the end of September.

For shipping police reasons, the ferry connection is only possible within the following water levels of the Oder (Eisenhüttenstadt):
  • Minimum water level: 230 cm
  • Maximum water level: 350 cm
  • The current daily water levels can be viewed online and on the Schlaube Oderland e.V. website.

In addition to the construction of various permanent structures, a partly new tourist infrastructure accompanying the ferry had to be designed and realised on both sides of the Oder. This was also achieved through various individual projects by different institutions, with the RGV Schlaube Oderland e.V. often playing a leading role.
