This lock connects the summit level of the Oder-Spree Canal via Lake Wergensee with the River Spree and is operated on the spot.  A new lock was built in Neuhaus in 1892, a year after the opening of the Oder-Spree Canal. The pumping station right next to the lock was built at the same time. The bascule bridge in the upper water is operated by lock personnel for boats moving out into the upper water. There are waiting spaces for sports boats in the lock basins.

Chamber length: 39.2 metres, chamber width: 9.38 metres, entry width: 5.28 metres drop: 1.17 metres

In the season from the beginning of April to the end of October, the lock is manned every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The lock cannot be operated outside this season. For up-to-date information, please consult the website of the National Waterways and Shipping Office. Operation is the responsibility of the Berlin Waterways and Shipping Office, suburb of Fürstenwalde.
