Experience a fascinating tour with optimum inline conditions and wonderful views over the River Oder. On this popular inline tour, you’ll meet plenty of skaters, especially in the evening!

The tour starts in Eisenhüttenstadt, formerly Stalinstadt.  The town was built in the 1950s, when the GDR was shut off from West German steel production. A town for 25,000 people was built in just 900 days between Diehlower Berge and the little town of Fürstenberg on the River Oder. No other town reflects the spirit of these times as well as this town full of contrasts does.

Length: 48 kilometres, there and back

Route: Eisenhüttenstadt – along the River Oder – Aurith – Brieskow-Finkenheerd

Surface: very good

Difficulty level: easy

How to get there:
  • Train: RE1, RE11 to Eisenhüttenstadt station; if necessary, back from Brieskow-Finkenheerd station
  • Car: A12 to Frankfurt (Oder) and then continue on the B112 to Eisenhüttenstadt. A15 towards Cottbus and then take the B112 via Guben to Eisenhüttenstadt.

Please observe the legal regulations and the Road Traffic Act when skating.

Points of interest along the route:

Eisenhüttenstadt: formerly Stalinstadt (currently listed as a protected monument), Documentation Centre for Everyday GDR Culture, Zwillingsschachtschleuse, Inselbad Fire Brigade Museum

Brieskow-Finkenheerd: Friedrich Wilhelm Canal

Tip: Inline skating tour to the River Neiße estuary

The tour on the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path can be continued in the other direction (Oder-Neiße Cycle Path) from Eisenhüttenstadt to Ratzdorf (River Neiße estuary). Difficulty level: difficult
