The historic town centre, surrounded by the almost completely preserved town wall with its 6 towers, gives Beeskow its special character and invites visitors to explore its exciting history.

The town's landmark, Beeskow Castle, was built in the 13th century. Today, the castle complex is a cultural and educational centre. Numerous theatre performances, concerts, festivals and exhibitions regularly breathe life into the old walls. The 27 metre high keep with viewing platform also offers a fantastic view. Visible from afar, St Mary's Church, one of the largest and most beautiful brick churches in Brandenburg, stands in the centre of the old town. The oldest house in the eastern Mark Brandenburg is located in Kirchgasse and takes visitors on a journey through time. Numerous residential and commercial buildings have been lovingly restored and can be admired in the town centre.

But Beeskow has more to offer than just history: surrounded by numerous lakes and the Spree, which meanders along the old town centre, there are numerous opportunities to spend time in, around and on the water. An old river bathing establishment, the weir system and hanging willows with constantly hungry ducks also invite you to linger.
