Buckow, Brandenburg's only state-approved Kneipp spa town, has been a popular destination for day trips and recreational activities east of Berlin for over 100 years. 150 kilometres of marked hiking trails through the delightful forests and lakeland scenery of the Märkische Schweiz region, clear bathing lakes and magnificent viewpoints ensure that you enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the country. Art lovers will also get their money's worth at the annual "Literatursommer" (literature summer) festival in the Brecht Weigel House or open-air concerts in the reconstructed castle grounds.

The centre of Buckow, which used to be home to a border castle, later a mill and then a warm public bathing facility, now accommodates the tourist information centre of Märkische Schweiz in a lovingly restored half-timbered house. Behind the house, there is a herb garden with Kneipp water treading pool and arm plunge pool as well as the entrance to the castle grounds. It's a great place for enjoying nature, culture and recreation. We are open daily throughout the year.
