Strausberg, a town with a population of 27,000, situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Straussee and surrounded by beautiful forests and lakes, is a great place for a relaxing holiday. Of particular interest are the bathing lakes where you can row and fish, more than 100 kilometres of marked hiking, cycling and riding paths, the restored Old Town with medieval town wall, the church of St. Mary with an ascendable tower, a city museum and a passenger cable ferry with electric overhead line, which is unique in Europe. For adventurers its worth to visit the local airport with its large range of sightseeing flights and balloon rides or the climbing forest with articial mountains in the sports and recreation centre.
