The tourist information centre is located in the foyer of the museum park. Since its foundation, the town of Rüdersdorf has been dominated by the mining of limestone, which is a rare mineral in this region. It is still mined today in the immediate vicinity of the museum park. The Rüderdorf museum park takes its visitors on a tour of the preserved industrial monuments related to limestone mining and processing.
