Level with Drahendorf, canoes must be carried around the historic needle dam with its timber beams across the River Drahendorfer Spree. A ramp and a lightweight aluminium trolley are provided for this. Just a few metres past the weir, boats can be returned to the water easily. A wooden jetty helps entry and exit.

From the weir, it is then only around a kilometre to the opening of the Oder-Spree canal. This is where the “Forsthaus an der Spree” campsite is located. In the direction of Neubrück, there is also a bivouac area at the loop of the river in Drahendorf.
