The second stage of the Brandenburg section the Spree Cycle Path runs for 73 kilometres along the route from Forst (Lausitz) to Lübben im Spreewald. From Cottbus, the path first leads to the pond landscape around Peitz then to Burg im Spreewald. Continuing along the River Spree it then proceeds to Leipe, through the museum village of Lehde, and then to Lübbenau and finally Lübben.

How to get there: Take the RE2 (Cottbus) from Berlin central station to Cottbus (approximately 1.5 hours).

Return journey: From Lübben, take the RE2 (Wittenberge) to Berlin central station (approximately 1 hour).

Route: Cottbus, Peitz, Burg, Leipe, Lübbenau, Stottoff, Lübben

  • Cottbus: Human Rights Centre and Memorial Prison, Spreeauenpark, local history museum
