This tour is the third stage of the Spreewald Five-Castles Tour, starting at the snow-white moated castle of Fürstlich Drehna—one of the Spreewald’s hidden gems—and continuing past the Renaissance-style Vetschau Castle to Branitz Castle in Cottbus, where the Pückler family once resided.

Length:  50 km

Start: Fürstlich Drehna Castle

End: Branitz Castle, Cottbus

Getting There/Leaving by Public Transportation:
  • From Berlin Central Station, take the RE2 to Lübbenau, then transfer to bus line 472 (approx. 1.5 hours).
  • From Cottbus Central Station, take the RE2 to Berlin (approx. 1.5 hours)


Route:

Fürstlich Drehna–Calau–Vetschau–Cottbus

Sights:

  • Niederlausitzer Landrücken Nature Park – Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center in Wanninchen
  • City and Castle Park in Luckau/LAGA
  • Kulturkirche with the Lower Lusatia Museum
  • Fürstlich Drehna Castle Park
