This bicycle tour takes you past historic thatched roof houses, through the unspoiled Spreewald forest, past traditional artisan farms and through Spreewald landscapes. On the way, you can watch master craftsmen at work and taste fine spirits distilled in Burg – or simply enjoy the idyllic atmosphere of the Spreewald countryside. The bicycle tour starts in the heart of Burg at the tourist information centre. You head towards the Bismarck Tower along a tributary of the River Spree. The 27-metre observation tower on Schlossberg offers an expansive view of the unique Spreewald landscape. Leaving the Bismarck Tower to the right, the tour then goes on to Lake Willischza-See, carrying on through the extensive dispersed settlement, past open fields and small unspoilt woodland areas as far as Ringchaussee.
