This bicycle tour begins and ends at Burg im Spreewald tourist information centre. Start by taking a look at Burg local history parlour, a typical log cabin with a thatched roof that houses a small but excellent historical collection relating to the history of Burg. Before heading toward Burg-Kauper district, enjoy the view of the unique Spreewald landscape from the 27-metre Bismarck Tower. Passing orchard meadows and typical Spreewald farmyards, the tour takes you through the ancient fishing village of Leipe to the listed Spreewald village of Lehde with its open-air museum, farmhouse museum and gherkin museum. Heading back, the route runs via Burg-Kolonie, where a craft trade demonstration centre and a juice press exhibition can be visited along the way. You can finish off your cycling tour at Spreewald Therme – the thermal spas in Burg.
