This bicycle tour begins and ends at Burg im Spreewald tourist information centre. Start by taking a look at Burg local history parlour, a typical log cabin with a thatched roof that houses a small but excellent historical collection relating to the history of Burg. Along the Ludwig Leichhardt Trail, the path leads past Lake Byhleguhrer and Lake Byhlener See to Straupitz in the Oberspreewald. Points of interest here include the restored Schinkel church, the granary and the historic Dutch windmill – Europe’s last triple-product mill still in operation. You can finish off your cycling tour at Spreewald Therme – the thermal spas in Burg.
