Nowhere else in Europe can paddling fans “put out to sea” than in the blue hinterlands of Berlin. On the 170 kilometre-round tour canoeists glide through the nature reserve “Naturpark Dahme-Heideseen” up to the gates of the megapolis Berlin.

Route: River Spree, Drahendorfer Spree, Oder-Spree Kanal (canal), Müggelspree, Lake Dämeritzsee, Gosener Kanal (canal), Lake Seddinsee, River Dahme, Lake Zeuthener See, Lake Krüpelsee, Lake Dolgensee, River Dahme, Dahme-Umflutkanal, Obere Spree, Lake Neuendorfer See

Along the shore: Beeskow: castle; historic city centre Fürstenwalde; Palace Königs Wusterhausen; Palace Prieros; visitor centre Dahme-Heideseen nature reserve; Märkisch Buchholz: cascades dam

Waterways: various bodies of water; River Spree with many abandoned meanders and branches, slow current on Rivers Dahme and Spree (River Spree with possibly stronger current in spring), navigation and landing prohibited on distributaries and cut-off meanders of River Spree; a total of 12 locks.

Important note: the lock in Leibsch is currently closed due to the low water level. For water hikers there is the possibility to transfer the boat. Up-to-date information on the situation can be obtained from the water and soil association "Nördlicher Spreewald" under 035474 366390.
