This Gothic hall-type church was built at the end of the 14th century. From April 1 to October 31 visitors can take a one-hour guided of the church tower including the viewing platform at a height of 70 metres offering a bird’s-eye view of Calau. 164 steps have to be climbed first, however. From the top you have a wonderful view of the small town as well as the Calauer Schweiz with its hills and valleys. There is also a room in the tower containing three historic church tower clock mechanisms. Guided tours of the church including the climb up to the viewing platform can be booked at the parish office or by calling the numbers provided.
