Lieberrose, first mentioned in a document in 1301, is the “pearl of lower Lusatia”. To enable guests to explore this beautiful town and the surrounding area, the Lieberose friends’ association has designated 8 hikes in and around Lieberose. Each one combines the idyllic scenery with the charm of this small town and its historic buildings. The tours are close to bus stops so it is possible to use public transport, but parking is also available.

The Lanes Tour takes you down lanes of chestnut trees and ancient oak trees to the district of Hollbrunn, a former knight's estate that was also used by the Schulenburg lords for horse riding. After crossing the B168 and passing the veterinary practice, you walk along the edge of a pine forest and through fields and green meadows: here it is sometimes possible to see cranes. You then arrive in the district of Münchhofe, a former dairy farm belonging to Neuzelle monastery. The path then continues through the village, heading for Lieberose. After the former light railway embankment – the Kleinbahndamm – turn right through the palace park, before passing the chapel – where the Schulenburg family lies buried – and the palace nursery. Several bridges were added to the front section of the palace park in 2016.
