The loop trail—named after a crop typical of the region, “Heedekorn” (buckwheat)—stretches between the “Niederlausitzer Landrücken” ridge and the Calauer Schweiz. The trail features an elevation gain of nearly 60 meters. While this is considerable for Lower Lusatia, it means a leisurely hike for visitors and a feast for all the senses: from the chorus of frogs by the ponds to the silence of vast forests, discoveries in quaint villages, and, of course, buckwheat pancakes. The 43-meter-high brick tower on the high plateau offers a view far beyond the hiking area.
