The manor chapel in Reuden is a central structure with a square-shaped layout. The baroque building that was inaugurated in 1729 is unique for the region. Its builder Otto Bernhard von Borcke worked in Dresden and was inspired by the construction activity there. Leading builders from Dresden are also named as the godfathers of children from Reuden in the church records of the time. Refurbishment work on the building that had long been exposed to deterioration was taken up in 1997, thanks to the initiative of the Gutskapelle Reuden e.V. friends’ association. Most of the work was realised with subsidies and donations. The manor chapel is now a cultural gem and a venue for exhibitions and events. It is also popular among bridal couples, who appreciate the little chapel as a wedding venue and a wonderful photo motif.
