The first and only museum of comic art in the Berlin-Brandenburg region has been located in the old town of Luckau since February 2011. The Cartoonlobby is temporarily accommodated on the ground floor of a listed building. The former detention centre and current district archive is located opposite the Niederlausitz Museum and the Kulturkirche.
On 150 square metres of archive and exhibition space, about 70-100 original objects are presented in alternating special exhibitions, each lasting two months. The museum is essentially dedicated to maintaining and documenting a great satirical heritage – the humorous social criticism of past epochs in drawings, especially those originating from the Berlin/Brandenburg region. Events, workshops, readings and lectures are also part of the programme relating to the Cartoonlobby collection in Luckau.
