Kólasko means ‘spinning wheel’ – a tool used to produce linen fabrics. In former times, the women of the village met in the Spinte (spinning room) to work together on the spinning wheels. Many a story was “spun” on winter evenings, too: the legend of the dragon that lived in this area has always been a focal point of village history. At the Kólasko Museum, visitors can find out all about the history of the village of Drachhausen and the flax that was grown at that time. Objects from the rural life of the Sorbian/Wendish population are also to be seen.
