In one of the oldest buildings in Lehde the history of the ultimate Spreewald product – the Spreewald gherkin – is brought to life with true collector’s enthusiasm. At Germany's only gherkin museum, visitors can find out interesting facts about the tradition of gherkin growing and processing. A historical gherkin pickling plant, fishing equipment and thatchers' tools provide an introduction the history of trade crafts in the Spreewald region, while the highlight of any visit is of course the opportunity to taste different Spreewald gherkins.
